The Goats on the right show the range of Music at the Horny Goat Gigs - we will have Rock music gigs as well as Folk, Jazz, Reggae and Classical gigs. On the Gig Calendar page, the “appropriate” Goat will be used to show the kind of Gig being scheduled, and if the artists don’t mind, we might even assign a specific Goat per band or performer.
Where Goats Cheese and Music come together
High on hills in the Natal Midlands, midway between Lidgetton and Balgowan on R103, Swissland Cheese hosts the Horny Goat Gigs every summer. The gig site has spectacular views from the Nottingham Road village to the Drakensberg Mountain range, including the Midmar Dam and the Caversham Valley and Lidgetton Valley. A phenomenal place to hold a concert of any kind.
Swissland Cheese has been a feature of the Midlands and of the Meander for over 20 years, producing the very best Goats Cheeses from a large herd of Swiss Saanen Goats. During any concert, the cheese shop will be open, selling the entire range of goats cheeses, which usually includes Brie, St. Maure, Chevin, Isinyani, Drakensberg, Cream Cheese, Feta and Pecorino.
At every event, a range of food, drinks and local beer will be available to satisfy that inevitable hunger and thirst.
